 From Estacada:

As you are leaving Estacada You will pass by a chevron gas station on your left. (This is your last chance for gas)

Set your odometer just at the edge of town.

— Take Clackamas Hwy 224 east for 25 miles

— right after the bridge there is a fork. take the center lane that curves to the right on to NF 46.

—in 3.5 miles take turn right on NF 63 (Collawash River Rd) towards Bagby hot springs.

—in 3.4 miles continue left on NF 63 (Collawash River Rd) past the second turnoff to Bagby hot springs (Do not turn on to NF 70)

— in 2 miles at the fork stay left on NF 63 (for reference there is a sign just before fork on your left that says “Elk Lake Tr. No 599”)

Note: after this you will be taking a right at EVERY fork in the road

!!!!! The road from here switches back and forth from being paved and unpaved. watch out for the transitions between them and for VERY DEEP POTHOLES that can jump out unexpectedly. if you take it slow they are easy to avoid. we made it in a jetta so…

also, there is a very steep drop off on the right for most of the way down the hill. Just be careful and try to get there with some daylight to spare!

— in 3.9 miles take a right staying on NF 63

— in 2.8 miles take a right onto the clearly marked NF 6380

again just keep right on any fork you come to

in 2.5 miles you will come to a bridge. do not cross it YOU HAVE ARRIVED!

around here would be a good place to park off to the side of the road.

we will be set up down the track to the left slightly up river.
